Walkies…

So, this week has been half term and I feel like I have not accomplished much. I haven’t been about on the blog or Twitter much as its been hectic having J & K off school.

I wanted to share these pictures with you last week, but didn’t seem to find the time to log into the PC and upload them.

I’ve finally found the time to quickly log on and share some of the pictures from our walk last week. We took the children and Honey to the fantastic Bushy Park in Richmond. It’s an amazing place with lots to do and see! occasionally you can see the Deer, but we weren’t so lucky this time.

We did however, feed the poor little swans whose lake had iced over, and we got very muddy!

Christmas Surprise…..

On Saturday, my 2 sisters J and C took me out for the day as my Christmas gift.

I had no idea where we were going. All I was told was to be ready for 6:15am for a 7:30am train into London. I was also told to shave and pack a swimsuit ?!?

Even with these cryptic clues I didn’t have a clue where we were going. I was scared that they were going to take me to some weird place. I mean, what on earth did I need a swimsuit for? and WHY did I need to shave the winter hairs off!

I was collected at 6:45am (30mins later than C told me as they were running late! Wish I’d known, could have caught some extra Zzz’s).

I was brought my travel card and a Cuppa before we set off to get the train. I still had no idea where we were going, so just followed J and C like a little lost puppy.

We eventually got off at our stop and walked a few minutes down the road. We turned the corner and we were there!!

My surprise was a day at The Citypoint Club Health Fitness & Spa!!

We were slightly early, so we grabbed a quick coffee (again, I wasn’t allowed to pay!!) before heading into the spa! Our treatment of a Full Body Aromatherapy massage started at 9:30.

My sisters were taken in first. They both had women call them in and I slightly freaked a bit when I saw a man appear and really hoped that he wouldn’t call me.

I may sound mean but I am very body conscious since having children and have put an awful lot of weight on over the years.

My heart sank slightly when he called me, but I needn’t have worried. He introduced himself as Roberto and went through what I would like to get from the massage, whether that be relaxation, anti-stress etc. Anti-stress sounded fantastic and I was offered a head massage too!

The massage lasted 50 minutes and it went way too quickly! The room was softly lit and relaxing music playing. It was a bit nippy, but I figured that was to stop you from actually falling asleep. I could feel myself drifting off though.

When it was over, I was given a gown and Roberto carried my bags for me to the door of the ladies Changing room. I had not felt so relaxed in a very long time. My back and shoulders always seem to be very tense, but that had gone.

I put my bits in my designated locker, and went back to meet my sisters. We got a quick tour of the facilities, then we all went back to the changing room to change into our swimwear. We decided to hit the steam room, sauna then went off for a swim. We then spent 10 minutes in the Jacuzzi before we headed back to the Sauna and Steam room again. We had lunch arranged for 1pm, so we decided to spend 30mins in the relaxation room before hitting the showers.

After we had had a light lunch we decided to call it a day.

There are other treatments available at the spa, but as it is so close to Christmas they were fully booked. We were welcome to use all the facilities during the day, but we agreed that there is only so many times you sit in the steam room and sauna and use the swimming pool.

As it was only around 2pm, we decided to make a day of it.

We headed off to Covent Garden to the market there. As we got off the train we noticed there was a huge queue for the lift. We decided to take the stairs….all 193 of them! Biiiiggg mistake! I know now how unfit I truly am! I seriously thought I was going to stop breathing my chest hurt that much! Note to self: Exercise more in the New Year!!!

It has been years since I had been to Covent Garden Market, and they have some really brilliant stalls there selling home-made knick knacks! I wish I had had more pennies in my purse as there was some great stuff that I would have loved to get as Christmas gifts!

Whilst there we kept seeing people with M&Ms bags and that was it. We decided we would walk the short distance to M&Ms World in Leicester Square.

It was really busy, but boy was it fab! I love M&Ms and love the fact that you can buy nearly every colour there is! You can also customise your own pots with your own colours.

I decided to do a Flower pot for K and a Spiral pot for J as Christmas gifts. I hope they like them!

We decided to head home after we had mosied round. It was getting late and we had all been up early and were tired.

I had a brilliant day and I cannot thank my sisters enough for their generosity and for managing to keep it a surprise!! I am very lucky to them!!
