Facebook or Twitter??…

This week there are two blog prompts from BritMums

I have chosen the Blogging prompt (but I will do the personal prompt too).

The blogging prompt is: Facebook or Twitter? If you could use only ONE to promote your blog, which would you use and why?

Its only been the past 6 months that I have really got in to Twitter. I used to be a big Facebook addict, but my addiction has slowly moved over to Twitter.

If I had to chose just ONE of the social networking sites to promote my blog, then it would have to be TWITTER.

The reasoning would be that I can reach a wider network. Facebook is more “personal”. I have people on there that are friends or family. I know everyone on my facebook personally. Twitter is a whole different kettle of fish!

With Twitter, I can reach an audience of people I don’t know (but who I am getting to know gradually). They can also spread the word through re-tweeting (RT) my links I post.

Twitter is just a greater platform to gain a larger audience.

I have a Facebook Page for my blog, but find I don’t get as much traffic from there. The thing with Facebook is that you can “hide” things from your news feed! So if you don’t want to see it, you hide it and can just forget about it. With Twitter you don’t have that ability.

Altogether, as a whole, Twitter is a lot better for marketing and promotion….. In my opinion.

Great job Rachel! Thanks so much for taking part again! Isn't Twitter amazing! I'm waiting for someone to choose Facebook…it hasn't happened yet! 😉
See you next week for the next BritMums Blogging Prompt…and on Twitter of course 😉

I think it's all round better for everything. The trouble with Facebook when you're promoting a blog or a business, is that sometimes you don't want your “real” friends to know every move you make so you don't always publicise things so openly. On Twitter, with those strangers you share everything with, you don't worry so much 😉

I agree completely. I love Twitter and it's been really beneficial for my blog. I'd chose it over Facebook any day. x

Yes. Facebook does have more of a personal vibe where even if you 'Like' or friend someone you wouldn't look to just start a conversation for the hell of it.

Yay team twitter! I totally agree (and will add you now so it kind of proves our point!) that Twitter helps your blog reach a much larger audience.
