The Gallery: Black & White

So, I’ve been reading a great blog by Sticky Fingers and really loved her “The Gallery” feature. Every week there will be an idea or prompt for you to take photo’s of, and then blog and write about it.

I love taking photographs. I’m not always brilliant, and most of them are of my children, but I love taking them anyway.

I decided to join in this great idea….so here is my entry. This week’s theme is “Black & White”

This is one of my favourite pictures of our 3rd child A, taken when she was just 2 days old. She is out “Miracle Baby”. She was born at 37+4wks gestation, weighing 5lbs 5.7oz after a horrendous and complicated pregnancy and delivery.

I suffered Placenta Previa and Placenta Accreta with her, along with the placenta trying to remove itself from 27wks. After several short admissions, I was admitted permanently until she was delivered as a pre-caution incase I suffered full Placenta Abruption.

On my first admission at 27weeks, they struggled to find her heartbeat for half an hour and she hadn’t moved for a few hours beforehand. We were convinced we had lost her.

After a major bleed at 33wks, they were going to deliver her, but decided against it and she hung in there for 4 more weeks. She was finally delivered safely, although it was under a general anaesthetic for my safety.

She truly is our little fighter and such a cheeky little girl……but we wouldn’t change her for the world and I would go through everything again in a heartbeat for her!

Love the tones in this photo and gosh what a pregnancy – she really is a miracle and a fighter.

Thank you. It was a tough pregnancy, especially as having 2 older children at home, but she was worth it & was born healthy. Some people aren't that fortunate 😦 x
